SENATE BILL

        INTRODUCED BY MADIGAN, LOGAN, LAVALLE, BRIGHTBILL, KITCHEN,
           WAGNER, KUKOVICH, MUSTO, TARTAGLIONE, COSTA, STOUT,
           WONDERLING, O'PAKE, ARMSTRONG, FUMO, STACK, M. WHITE, DENT,
           ORIE, WENGER, MELLOW, THOMPSON, GREENLEAF, CORMAN, RAFFERTY,
           BOSCOLA AND KASUNIC, DECEMBER 15, 2003

        AS AMENDED ON SECOND CONSIDERATION, FEBRUARY 9, 2004

                                     AN ACT

     1  Redesignating the bridge over the Monongahela River known as the
     2     Clairton-Glassport Bridge, Department of Transportation No.
     3     02-2038-0010-0140, which connects the City of Clairton to the
     4     Borough of Glassport in Allegheny County, as the Senator
     5     Edward P. Zemprelli Bridge.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  Redesignating the Clairton-Glassport Bridge as
     9  the Senator Edward P. Zemprelli Bridge.
    10     (a)  Findings.--The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of
    11  Pennsylvania finds and declares as follows:
    12         Senator Edward P. Zemprelli will be honored for his 25
    13         years of devoted public service to the residents of
    14         Allegheny County. Among his many achievements, Senator
    15         Zemprelli served five years as a State Representative
    16         prior to serving 20 years as a State Senator where he
    17         served as both Majority Leader and Minority Leader.
    18     (b)  Redesignation.--The bridge OVER THE MONONGAHELA RIVER     <--

     1  known as the Clairton-Glassport Bridge, Department of
     2  Transportation No. 02-2038-0010-0140, connecting the City of
     3  Clairton and the Borough of Glassport, Allegheny County, is
     4  hereby redesignated as the Senator Edward P. Zemprelli Bridge.
     5     (c)  Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
     6  maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the bridge
     7  redesignated in subsection (b) to traffic in both directions on
     8  the bridge.
     9     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
