INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35, SEPTEMBER 17, 2004
A RESOLUTION 1 Designating the month of September 2004 as "Youth Soccer Month" 2 in Pennsylvania. 3 WHEREAS, Interest and participation in the sport of soccer is 4 at its highest point ever among our nation's youth; and 5 WHEREAS, Soccer provides a great foundation for athleticism 6 and fitness and offers skills for a lifetime, and our nation 7 encourages athleticism and achievement in our young people; and 8 WHEREAS, Many children in communities throughout this 9 Commonwealth participate in local soccer leagues; and 10 WHEREAS, "Youth Soccer Month" is celebrated during the month 11 of September to help bring attention to the sport and to 12 encourage and promote physical fitness, sportsmanship and 13 family; and
1 WHEREAS, The messages of "Youth Soccer Month" mirror those of 2 the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports and 3 communicate the importance of physical activity and exercise and 4 their link to good health; therefore be it 5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the 6 month of September 2004 as "Youth Soccer Month" in Pennsylvania.
