                                  A RESOLUTION

1 Encouraging the Philadelphia City Council to name the sports
2 complex at Broad Street and Pattison Avenue the "Veterans

4 the world as well as those who have served.

5 WHEREAS, The Philadelphia City Council had 30 years ago named
6 Veterans Stadium in order to honor veterans of the Delaware
7 Valley and this Commonwealth; and
8 WHEREAS, With the impending closing of Veterans Stadium and
9 sales of the naming rights to other individual stadiums, this
10 tribute to veterans of our armed forces may soon be lost to
11 current and future generations; and
12 WHEREAS, The City of Philadelphia will now have a world-class
13 sports complex with no name at Broad Street and Pattison

16 will be played at the sports complex; and

1 WHEREAS, Naming the sports complex "Veterans Sports Complex"
2 will honor those who serve and those who have served and allow
3 the individual stadiums within the complex to sell their naming
     4 rights; therefore be it
5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives strongly
6 encourage the Philadelphia City Council to continue the
