        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           APRIL 9, 2003

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Paying tribute to and honoring the memory of Captain Christopher
     2     Scott Seifert of the 101st Army Airborne Division, who
     3     tragically lost his life while on active duty at Camp
     4     Pennsylvania in Kuwait.

     5     WHEREAS, Captain Christopher Scott Seifert was a native of
     6  Williams Township, Northampton County, and a graduate of Wilson
     7  Area High School and Moravian College; and
     8     WHEREAS, Captain Seifert was honorably serving his country
     9  while on active duty in Kuwait on March 23, 2003, when his tent
    10  suffered a grenade attack; and

     1     WHEREAS, Captain Seifert lost his life during the attack on
     2  1st Brigade headquarters; and
     3     WHEREAS, Captain Seifert was the beloved son of Helen and
     4  Thomas Seifert, husband of Theresa and father of Benjamin; and
     5     WHEREAS, Captain Seifert made a positive and lasting impact
     6  on his family, friends, teachers, fellow soldiers and many
     7  others during his lifetime; and
     8     WHEREAS, The House of Representatives and all citizens of
     9  this Commonwealth and our nation owe a deep debt of gratitude to
    10  Captain Seifert for his courage, leadership and selflessness;
    11  therefore be it
    12     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives express heartfelt
    13  condolences to the family of Captain Christopher Scott Seifert
    14  and honor his service to his community, State and country; and
    15  be it further
    16     RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
    17  Helen and Thomas Seifert and Theresa Seifert with respect and
    18  gratitude for Captain Christopher Scott Seifert's ultimate
    19  sacrifice in his fight for freedom on behalf of the citizens of
    20  this Commonwealth and the United States of America.
