                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for a limit on teenage passengers
     3     in a vehicle operated by a licensed junior driver.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 1503(c) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read:
     8  § 1503.  Persons ineligible for licensing; license issuance to
     9             minors; junior driver's license.

    11     (c)  Junior driver's license.--The department may issue a
    12  junior driver's license to a person 16 or 17 years of age under
    13  rules and regulations adopted by the department and subject to
    14  the provisions of this section. A junior driver's license shall
    15  automatically become a regular driver's license when the junior
    16  driver attains 18 years of age.

    18         (2.1)  No licensed junior driver shall drive a vehicle

     1     with more than one passenger under the age of 18, unless
     2     accompanied by a spouse 18 years of age or older, a parent or
     3     a person in loco parentis.

     5     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
