AS RE-REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE ON APPROPRIATIONS, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, AS AMENDED, JUNE 28, 2004
AN ACT 1 Making an appropriation from a restricted revenue account within 2 the General Fund and from Federal augmentation funds to the 3 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. 4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 5 hereby enacts as follows: 6 Section 1. The following sums, or as much thereof as may be 7 necessary, are specifically appropriated from the restricted 8 revenue account within the General Fund and from Federal 9 augmentation funds to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission 10 to provide for the operation of the commission for the fiscal 11 year July 1, 2004, to June 30, 2005, for the purposes and in the 12 amounts shown: 13 Federal State 14 For the salaries, wages and all 15 necessary expenses for the proper 16 operation and administration of the 17 Pennsylvania Public Utility
1 Commission, including the chairman and 2 commissioners and the Bureau of Safety 3 and Enforcement. 4 State appropriation........ 48,106,000 <-- 5 STATE APPROPRIATION........ 44,916,000 <-- 6 The following Federal augmentation 7 amounts, or as much thereof as may be 8 necessary, are specifically 9 appropriated to supplement the sum 10 authorized to be billed to utilities 11 for the operation of the commission: 12 (1) "Natural Gas Pipeline 13 Safety" - To enforce the 14 regulations of the Natural Gas 15 Pipeline Safety Act. 16 Federal appropriation...... 425,000 17 (2) "Motor Carrier Safety." 18 Federal appropriation...... 1,575,000 19 Any Federal funds which the 20 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission 21 receives pursuant to these 22 appropriations shall not be reimbursed 23 to any utility. 24 SECTION 2. ANY ASSESSMENT ON PUBLIC UTILITIES RESULTING FROM <-- 25 COSTS INCURRED TO ESTABLISH AN INTEGRATED CASE AND DOCUMENT 26 MANAGEMENT PORTAL SHALL BE EQUALLY DISTRIBUTED OVER TEN YEARS, 27 COMMENCING WITH THE 2004-2005 FISCAL YEAR. 28 Section 2 3.
