AN ACT
1 Amending Title 74 (Transportation) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, providing for funding for new local
3 transportation organization or transportation company.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 74 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 1310.2. Funding for new local transportation organization or
9 transportation company.
10 If a new local transportation organization or transportation
11 company is established and meets the criteria of a class 1
12 transit entity, class 2 transit entity, class 3 transit entity
13 or class 4 transit entity as such criteria are set forth in
14 sections 1310 (relating to distribution of funding) and 1310.1
15 (relating to supplemental public transportation assistance
16 funding), the department shall make an appropriate adjustment in
17 its calculation of the transit entity sections 1310 and 1310.1
18 shares for each transit entity class to which the local
1 transportation organization or transportation company is
2 entitled. This determination shall include, but is not limited
3 to, an appropriate adjusted base grant for that local
4 transportation organization or transportation company and a
5 determination of appropriate adjustments to class percentages or
6 transit entity shares.
7 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2004, or
8 immediately, whichever is later.
