AN ACT
1 Establishing an accountability reporting system for institutions
2 of higher education with teacher preparation programs; and
3 imposing additional powers and duties on the Department of
4 Education.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Short title.
8 This act shall be known and may be cited as the State Report
9 on the Quality of Teacher Preparation Act.
10 Section 2. Dissemination of Statewide report.
11 (a) General public.--The Department of Education shall
12 publish the Statewide report on the quality of teacher
13 preparation, as required by Title II of the Higher Education Act
14 of 1965 (Public Law 89-329, 79 Stat. 1219), on the Department of
15 Education's Internet site no later than April 30 of each
16 academic year.
17 (b) Copy to General Assembly.--The Department of Education
18 shall forward a copy of the Statewide report on the quality of
1 teacher preparation to the chairman and minority chairman of the
2 Education Committee of the Senate and the chairman and minority
3 chairman of the Education Committee of the House of
4 Representatives.
5 Section 3. Effective date.
6 This act shall take effect immediately.
