                                     AN ACT

     1  Authorizing appointment of nonresident owners of businesses in a
     2     community to boards and commissions.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5  Section 1.  Appointments to boards and commissions.
     6     Notwithstanding any other statutory provision to the
     7  contrary, a mayor or other appointing officer may appoint a
     8  nonresident who owns and operates a business in the community to
     9  any board or commission to which residents of the community may
    10  be appointed.
    11  Section 2.  Effective date.
    12     This act shall take effect in 60 days.
