A RESOLUTION 1 Urging the President of the United States to reinstate $150 2 million of funding for firefighters. 3 WHEREAS, Every day firefighters and emergency services 4 personnel risk their lives and well-being to protect our homes 5 and businesses; and 6 WHEREAS, The Congress recently approved $5.1 billion for 7 homeland security, including $150 million of funding for 8 training and equipment for firefighters; and 9 WHEREAS, The President blocked the entire amount, thereby 10 cutting off the desperately needed funds, some of which have 11 already been requested by fire departments; therefore be it 12 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 13 urge the President of the United States to reinstate the $150 14 million of Federal moneys earmarked for equipment and training 15 for firefighters across the country; and be it further 16 RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
