                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating the month of April 2002 as "CPAs Industry Month" in
     2     Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public
     4  Accountants (PICPA), founded in 1897, is a professional
     5  association of more than 19,000 certified public accountants who
     6  work in public accounting, industry, government and education;
     7  and
     8     WHEREAS, PICPA is the second-oldest and fifth-largest state
     9  organization for certified public accountants in the United


     1  States; and
     2     WHEREAS, PICPA is highlighting its members who work in
     3  industry, more than half of its total membership, by designating
     4  April as "CPAs Industry Month" with events focusing on industry-
     5  related areas of interest; and
     6     WHEREAS, A one-day conference in the greater Philadelphia
     7  region offers specialized continuing professional education
     8  sessions on topics such as the chief financial officer of the
     9  future and human resources, and many other sessions are being
    10  held in various locations throughout this Commonwealth;
    11  therefore be it
    12     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
    13  month of April 2002 as "CPAs Industry Month" in Pennsylvania.
