INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35, MARCH 11, 2002
A RESOLUTION 1 Recognizing the 70th anniversary of the Pennsylvania Federation 2 of Sportsmen's Clubs and commending the organization for its 3 outstanding contributions to this Commonwealth. 4 WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs 5 (PFSC) was founded in 1932; and 6 WHEREAS, The mission of PFSC is to provide a Statewide, 7 united voice for the concerns of sportsmen and conservationists, 8 to ensure that their rights and interests are protected and to 9 protect and enhance the environment and natural resources of 10 this Commonwealth; and
1 WHEREAS, PFSC's proud tradition of legislative participation 2 traces back to 1937, when it was the driving force behind the 3 passage of the act of June 22, 1937 (P.L.1987, No.394), known as 4 The Clean Streams Law; and 5 WHEREAS, PFSC played a major role in establishing fish 6 ladders for migratory species on the Susquehanna River, 7 diverting attempts to use State game lands as waste storage and 8 disposal sites, protecting wetlands and waterways, providing 9 conservation education at outdoor education centers and public 10 schools, repealing the Philadelphia Firearms Act and preserving 11 State hunting areas and club shooting ranges; therefore be it 12 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the 13 70th anniversary of the Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen's 14 Clubs and commend its many outstanding accomplishments over the 15 years.
