AN ACT
1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2 act relating to the public school system, including certain
3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5 laws relating thereto," providing for attendance at schools
6 for the performing arts.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
10 as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a
11 section to read:
12 Section 1316.1. Attendance at Schools for the Performing
13 Arts.--The board of school directors of school districts of the
14 first class A may permit any nonresident pupil to attend a high
15 school for the performing arts in its district upon such terms
16 as it may determine, subject to the provisions of this act.
17 Nonresident students may attend such schools without the
18 permission of the board of school directors of the district
19 where they reside. Payments due from a sending district to a
1 receiving district shall be governed by sections 2561 and 2562,
2 except that a sending district's liability for payment shall be
3 limited to the tuition charge of the receiving district or its
4 own tuition charge, whichever is less.
5 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
