SENATOR THOMPSON, APPROPRIATIONS, IN SENATE, AS AMENDED, MAY 6, 2002
AN ACT
1 Making appropriations from the Professional Licensure
2 Augmentation Account and from restricted revenue accounts
3 within the General Fund to the Department of State for use by
4 the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs in
5 support of the professional licensure boards assigned
6 thereto.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. The sum of $19,421,000, or as much thereof as may
10 be necessary, is hereby appropriated from the Professional
11 Licensure Augmentation Account within the General Fund to the
12 Department of State for the operation of the Bureau of
13 Professional and Occupational Affairs, including the State Board
14 of Auctioneer Examiners, for the fiscal year July 1, 2002, to
15 June 30, 2003.
16 Section 2. (a) The sum of $3,199,000 $6,747,000, or as much <--
17 thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated from the
18 restricted receipts account of the State Board of Medicine, as
1 authorized by section 907(a) of the act of October 15, 1975
2 (P.L.390, No.111), known as the Health Care Services Malpractice
3 Act, for the operation of the board for the fiscal year July 1,
4 2002, to June 30, 2003.
5 (b) The sum of $669,000 $1,172,000, or as much thereof as <--
6 may be necessary, is hereby appropriated from the restricted
7 receipts account of the State Board of Osteopathic Medicine, as
8 authorized by section 907(b) of the Health Care Services
9 Malpractice Act, for the operation of the board for the fiscal
10 year July 1, 2002, to June 30, 2003.
11 (c) The sum of $262,000, or as much thereof as may be
12 necessary, is hereby appropriated from the restricted receipts
13 account of the State Board of Podiatry, as authorized by section
14 907(c) of the Health Care Services Malpractice Act, for the
15 operation of said board for the fiscal year July 1, 2002, to
16 June 30, 2003.
17 (d) The sum of $364,000, or as much thereof as may be
18 necessary, is hereby appropriated from the Athletic Commission
19 Augmentation Account for the State Athletic Commission, as
20 authorized by 5 Pa.C.S. § 1512 (relating to Athletic Commission
21 Augmentation Account), for the support and operation of the
22 commission for the fiscal year July 1, 2002, to June 30, 2003.
23 (e) Each appropriation listed in subsections (a), (b), (c)
24 and (d) shall not be treated as an augmentation to the
25 Department of State, general government appropriation, or any
26 other appropriation, but shall be treated and accounted for as
27 separate appropriations respectively.
28 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2002, or
29 immediately, whichever is later.
