AN ACT
1 Amending the act of November 24, 1976 (P.L.1176, No.261),
2 entitled "An act providing for the rights and duties of
3 mobile home owners or operators and mobile home residents,"
4 providing for mandatory insurance coverage for mobile homes.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. The act of November 24, 1976 (P.L.1176, No.261),
8 known as the Mobile Home Park Rights Act, is amended by adding a
9 section to read:
10 Section 11.1. Insurance.--All mobile home policies of
11 insurance shall include the following:
12 (1) A maximum of $1,000 for the actual, reasonable and
13 necessary cost for the removal of debris from the mobile home
14 space in the mobile home park after an insured peril damages the
15 mobile home.
16 (2) The $1,000 maximum amount for the debris removal cost
17 shall be included in the amount of insurance that applies to the
18 damaged mobile home. If the amount to be paid for the actual
1 damage to the mobile home, plus the debris removal cost, is more
2 than the amount of insurance on the mobile home, then this
3 debris removal amount shall be considered an additional coverage
4 on the policy of insurance.
5 (3) The eligible debris removal claim payment amount shall
6 be made payable to the mobile home park owner and to the named
7 insured.
8 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
