AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for fees for commercial driver's
3 licenses.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 1617 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 1617. Fees.
9 Fees relating to commercial drivers' licenses to be collected
10 by the department under this chapter shall be in addition to any
11 other fees imposed under the provisions of this title and are as
12 follows:
13 (1) [The] Except as provided in paragraph (1.1), the
1 annual fee for a commercial driver's license designation 2 shall be $10. 3 (1.1) The annual commercial driver's license fee for an 4 individual who is an active member of a volunteer fire 5 department, rescue squad or hazardous material response team 6 shall be $5. The chief officer of an eligible emergency 7 response organization shall submit in writing a letter to the 8 department attesting to the applicant's current active 9 membership with the emergency response organization. 10 (2) In addition to any other restoration fee required by 11 this title, an additional restoration fee of $50 shall be 12 assessed and collected before reinstating a commercial 13 driver's operating privilege following a suspension or 14 revocation under this title or disqualification under this 15 chapter. 16 (3) If the commercial driving privilege of a driver is 17 disqualified, a Class C noncommercial or M license, if the 18 driver possesses the motorcycle qualification, may be 19 obtained upon payment of the fees associated with obtaining a 20 duplicate license. 21 Section 2.
