AS AMENDED ON THIRD CONSIDERATION, IN SENATE, JUNE 12, 2001
AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation from a restricted revenue account within
2 the General Fund and from Federal augmentation funds to the
3 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The following sums, or as much thereof as may be
7 necessary, are specifically appropriated from the restricted
8 revenue account within the General Fund and from Federal
9 augmentation funds to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission
10 to provide for the operation of the commission for the fiscal
11 year July 1, 2001, to June 30, 2002, for the purposes and in the
12 amounts shown: Federal State
13 For the salaries, wages and all
14 necessary expenses for the proper
15 operation and administration of the
16 Pennsylvania Public Utility
17 Commission, including the chairman and
1 commissioners and the Bureau of Safety
2 and Enforcement. <--
3 State appropriation........ 42,127,000
4 AND ENFORCEMENT. THIS APPROPRIATION <--
5 INCLUDES AT LEAST $500,000 FOR COSTS,
6 INCLUDING TRAINING AND TECHNOLOGY
7 NEEDS, FOR REVIEW AND ANALYSIS OF
8 TELECOMMUNICATIONS CARRIER PERFORMANCE
9 STANDARDS AND THE DATA UNDERLYING
10 REPORTS RELATING TO SUCH STANDARDS.
11 STATE APPROPRIATION........ 42,992,000
12 The following Federal augmentation
13 amounts, or as much thereof as may be
14 necessary, are specifically
15 appropriated to supplement the sum
16 authorized to be billed to utilities
17 for the operation of the commission:
18 (1) "Natural Gas Pipeline
19 Safety" - To enforce the
20 regulations of the Natural Gas
21 Pipeline Safety Act.
22 Federal appropriation...... 300,000
23 Any Federal funds which the
24 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission
25 receives pursuant to these
26 appropriations shall not be reimbursed
27 to any utility.
28 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2001, or
29 immediately, whichever is later.
