AN ACT
1 Amending the act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), entitled "An
2 act to consolidate, editorially revise, and codify the public
3 welfare laws of the Commonwealth," providing for
4 transportation ratios for child day-care centers.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. The act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), known
8 as the Public Welfare Code, is amended by adding a section to
9 read:
10 Section 1022. Transportation Ratios.--(a) Whenever school-
11 age children are transported by a child day care center, the
12 vehicle transporting the children shall be staffed by a driver
13 and if more than two children who are not of school age are
14 being transported, an additional staff person shall be present
15 in the vehicle.
16 (b) For purposes of this section, "school age" means the
17 earliest admission age for the public or private school to which
1 or from which the children are being transported until the age
2 of fifteen years.
3 Section 2. All regulations or parts of regulations are
4 abrogated insofar as they are inconsistent with this act.
5 Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
