        INTRODUCED AND ADOPTED, DECEMBER 7, 1999

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Commemorating "Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day."

     2     WHEREAS, December 7, 1999, marks the 58th Anniversary of the
     3  Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor; and
     4     WHEREAS, Over 2,400 military and civilian lives were lost
     5  during the 110-minute attack on the morning of December 7, 1941;
     6  and
     7     WHEREAS, The people of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and
     8  the nation recognize the bravery of those who lost their lives
     9  or suffered injuries on that day of infamy; therefore be it
    10     RESOLVED, That the Senate commemorate December 7, 1999, as
    11  "Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day"; and be it further
    12     RESOLVED, That local governments and communities throughout
    13  this Commonwealth be encouraged to conduct appropriate
    14  observances of "Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day."
