AN ACT 1 Making appropriations from the Workmen's Compensation <-- 2 Administration Fund to the Department of Labor and Industry 3 and the Department of Community and Economic Development to 4 provide for the expenses of administering the Workers' 5 Compensation Act, The Pennsylvania Occupational Disease Act 6 and the Office of Small Business Advocate for the fiscal year 7 July 1, 2000, to June 30, 2001, and for the payment of bills 8 incurred and remaining unpaid at the close of the fiscal year 9 ending June 30, 2000. 10 AMENDING THE ACT OF MAY 12, 1999 (P.L.1119, NO.2A), ENTITLED "AN <-- 11 ACT MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FROM THE WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION 12 ADMINISTRATION FUND TO THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND INDUSTRY 13 AND THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TO 14 PROVIDE FOR THE EXPENSES OF ADMINISTERING THE WORKERS' 15 COMPENSATION ACT, THE PENNSYLVANIA OCCUPATIONAL DISEASE ACT 16 AND THE OFFICE OF SMALL BUSINESS ADVOCATE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 17 JULY 1, 1999, TO JUNE 30, 2000, AND FOR THE PAYMENT OF BILLS 18 INCURRED AND REMAINING UNPAID AT THE CLOSE OF THE FISCAL YEAR 19 ENDING JUNE 30, 1999," MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BUREAU 20 OF WORKERS' COMPENSATION. 21 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 22 hereby enacts as follows: 23 Section 1. The sum of $46,388,000, or as much thereof as may <-- 24 be necessary, is hereby appropriated from the Workmen's 25 Compensation Administration Fund to the Department of Labor and
1 Industry for the payment of all salaries, wages and other 2 compensation and travel expenses, for contractual services and 3 other expenses necessary for the administration of the act of 4 June 2, 1915 (P.L.736, No.338), known as the Workers' 5 Compensation Act, and the act of June 21, 1939 (P.L.566, 6 No.284), known as The Pennsylvania Occupational Disease Act, for 7 the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and for the payment of 8 bills incurred and remaining unpaid at the close of the fiscal 9 year ending June 30, 2000. 10 Section 2. The sum of $178,000 is hereby appropriated from 11 the restricted revenue account within the Workmen's Compensation 12 Administration Fund to the Office of Small Business Advocate in 13 the Department of Community and Economic Development as provided 14 in the act of June 2, 1915 (P.L.736, No.338), known as the 15 Workers' Compensation Act, for the operation of that office for 16 the fiscal year July 1, 2000, to June 30, 2001. 17 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2000, or 18 immediately, whichever is later. 19 SECTION 1. THE ACT OF MAY 12, 1999 (P.L.1119, NO.2A), <-- 20 ENTITLED "AN ACT MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FROM THE WORKMEN'S 21 COMPENSATION ADMINISTRATION FUND TO THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND 22 INDUSTRY AND THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC 23 DEVELOPMENT TO PROVIDE FOR THE EXPENSES OF ADMINISTERING THE 24 WORKERS' COMPENSATION ACT, THE PENNSYLVANIA OCCUPATIONAL DISEASE 25 ACT AND THE OFFICE OF SMALL BUSINESS ADVOCATE FOR THE FISCAL 26 YEAR JULY 1, 1999, TO JUNE 30, 2000, AND FOR THE PAYMENT OF 27 BILLS INCURRED AND REMAINING UNPAID AT THE CLOSE OF THE FISCAL 28 YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 1999," IS AMENDED BY ADDING A SECTION TO 29 READ: 30 SECTION 2.1. THE SUM OF $2,000,000, OR AS MUCH THEREOF AS 20000S1358B1999 - 2 -
1 MAY BE NECESSARY, IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF THE SURPLUS OF 2 THE WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION ADMINISTRATION FUND TO THE DEPARTMENT 3 OF LABOR AND INDUSTRY FOR THE OPERATING EXPENSES OF THE BUREAU 4 OF WORKERS' COMPENSATION FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999-2000. 5 SECTION 2.
