REPRESENTATIVES, AS AMENDED, JUNE 13, 2000
AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation from a restricted revenue account within
2 the General Fund and from Federal augmentation funds to the
3 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The following sums, or as much thereof as may be
7 necessary, are specifically appropriated from the restricted
8 revenue account within the General Fund and from Federal
9 augmentation funds to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission
10 to provide for the operation of the commission for the fiscal
11 year July 1, 2000, to June 30, 2001, for the purposes and in the
12 amounts shown:
13 Federal State
14 For the salaries, wages and all
15 necessary expenses for the proper
16 operation and administration of the
17 Pennsylvania Public Utility
1 Commission, including the chairman and
2 commissioners and the Bureau of Safety
3 and Enforcement. <--
4 State appropriation........ 40,370,000
5 AND ENFORCEMENT. THE APPROPRIATION <--
6 INCLUDES AT LEAST $440,000 TO DEFRAY
7 COSTS OF RELOCATION OF COMMISSION
8 OFFICES.
9 STATE APPROPRIATION........ 41,950,000
10 The following Federal augmentation
11 amounts, or as much thereof as may be
12 necessary, are specifically
13 appropriated to supplement the sum
14 authorized to be billed to utilities
15 for the operation of the commission:
16 (1) "Natural Gas Pipeline
17 Safety" - To enforce the
18 regulations of the Natural Gas
19 Pipeline Safety Act.
20 Federal appropriation...... 300,000
21 Any Federal funds which the
22 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission
23 receives pursuant to these
24 appropriations shall not be reimbursed
25 to any utility.
26 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2000, or
27 immediately, whichever is later.
