SENATE BILL

        AS AMENDED ON THIRD CONSIDERATION, MAY 9, 2000

                                     AN ACT

     1  Designating a portion of State Route 2027 in Westmoreland
     2     County, Pennsylvania, as Charles Houck Road; AND DESIGNATING   <--
     3     A BRIDGE OVER THE OHIO RIVER IN ALLEGHENY COUNTY AS THE
     4     PITTSBURGH NAVAL AND SHIPBUILDERS MEMORIAL BRIDGE 1941-1945.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7  Section 1.  Houck Road.
     8     (a)  Designation.--That portion of State Route 2027 from the
     9  intersection with State Route 981 south to the intersection of
    10  State Route 982, a distance of 2.9 miles, is hereby designated
    11  and shall be known as Charles Houck Road.
    12     (b)  Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
    13  maintain road signs, which shall display the name Charles Houck
    14  Road, at the beginning and the end of the section of the highway
    15  designated in subsection (a).
    16     SECTION 2.  MEMORIAL BRIDGE.                                   <--
    17     (A)  DESIGNATION.--THE BRIDGE ON INTERSTATE ROUTE 79, OVER
    18  THE OHIO RIVER AT NEVILLE ISLAND IN ALLEGHENY COUNTY, IS


     1  DESIGNATED AND SHALL BE KNOWN AS THE PITTSBURGH NAVAL AND
     2  SHIPBUILDERS MEMORIAL BRIDGE 1941-1945.
     3     (B)  SIGN.--THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION SHALL ERECT AND
     4  MAINTAIN AT EACH SIDE OF THE BRIDGE A SIGN DISPLAYING THE NAME
     5  OF THE BRIDGE.
     6  Section 2 3.  Effective date.                                     <--
     7     This act shall take effect in 60 days.
