AS AMENDED ON SECOND CONSIDERATION, APRIL 12, 1999
AN ACT
1 Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for the
3 number of judges of the courts of common pleas in certain
4 judicial districts.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Section 911(a) of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
8 Consolidated Statutes, amended December 15, 1998 (P.L.949,
9 No.126), is amended to read:
10 § 911. Courts of common pleas.
11 (a) General rule.--There shall be one court of common pleas
12 for each judicial district of this Commonwealth consisting of
13 the following number of judges:

29 Section 2. (a) The provisions of 42 Pa.C.S. § 3135 shall
30 not be applicable to the selection of judges for the judgeships

1 created in the amendment of 42 Pa.C.S. § 911(a).
2 (b) The new judgeships added by the amendment of 42 Pa.C.S.
3 § 911(a) shall be created on January 2, 2002, and shall be
4 initially filled by election at the 2001 municipal election.
5 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
