AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for visual and audible signals on
3 emergency vehicles.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 4571(e) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 4571. Visual and audible signals on emergency vehicles.

10 (e) Authorized period of use.--The lights and warning
11 systems specified by this section may be used only during an
12 emergency or in the interest of public safety and by police
13 officers, sheriffs and deputy sheriffs in enforcement of the
14 law, and by officers and investigators of the Bureau of Liquor
15 Control Enforcement of the Pennsylvania State Police, when
16 operating a vehicle clearly identified as an official vehicle of
17 the bureau, for the purpose of enforcing the act of April 12,
18 1951 (P.L.90, No.21), known as the Liquor Code, and any other
1 statutes as authorized by the Liquor Code. An ambulance which is
2 transporting a patient may use either the lights or the audible
3 warning system, or both, as determined by the driver of the
4 ambulance.
