                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, providing for a special Girl Scouts of the United
     3     States of America registration plate and a special Boy Scouts
     4     of America registration plate.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     8  Statutes is amended by adding sections to read:
     9  § 1361.  Girl Scouts of U.S.A. plate.
    10     (a)  Plate.--The department, in consultation with the girl
    11  scout councils of Pennsylvania boards of directors, shall design
    12  a special Girl Scout plate. Upon application of any person,
    13  accompanied by a fee of $35 which shall be in addition to the
    14  annual registration fee, the department shall issue the plate
    15  for a passenger car, motor home, trailer or truck with a gross
    16  vehicle weight rating of not more than 9,000 pounds.
    17     (b)  Establishment of fund.--There is hereby established a
    18  separate account in the Department of Community and Economic


     1  Development which shall be known as the Girl Scout Councils of
     2  Pennsylvania Fund. The purpose of the Girl Scout Councils of
     3  Pennsylvania Fund is to support the financial obligations within
     4  the scouting program.
     5     (c)  Payments to special funds.--Fifteen dollars of each fee
     6  received under subsection (a) shall be credited to the Girl
     7  Scout Councils of Pennsylvania Fund.
     8     (d)  Use of funds.--All moneys in the Girl Scout Councils of
     9  Pennsylvania Fund are annually appropriated, subject to the
    10  approval of the Governor, for the purposes authorized under
    11  subsection (b).
    12  § 1362.  Boy Scouts of America plate.
    13     (a)  Plate.--The department, in consultation with the North
    14  East Region of the Boy Scouts of America board of directors,
    15  shall design a special Boy Scout plate. Upon application of any
    16  person, accompanied by a fee of $35 which shall be in addition
    17  to the annual registration fee, the department shall issue the
    18  plate for a passenger car, motor home, trailer or truck with a
    19  gross vehicle weight rating of not more than 9,000 pounds.
    20     (b)  Establishment of fund.--There is hereby established a
    21  separate account in the Department of Community and Economic
    22  Development which shall be known as the North East Region of the
    23  Boy Scouts of America Fund. The purpose of the North East Region
    24  of the Boy Scouts of America Fund is to support the financial
    25  obligations within the scouting program.
    26     (c)  Payments to special funds.--Fifteen dollars of each fee
    27  received under subsection (a) shall be credited to the North
    28  East Region of the Boy Scouts of America Fund.
    29     (d)  Use of funds.--All moneys in the North East Region of
    30  the Boy Scouts of America Fund are annually appropriated,

     1  subject to the approval of the Governor, to the North East
     2  Region of the Boy Scouts of America and shall be expended for
     3  the purposes authorized under subsection (b).
     4     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
