                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for issuance and content of
     3     driver's license.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 1510(a) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 1510.  Issuance and content of driver's license.
     9     (a)  General rule.--The department shall, upon payment of the
    10  required fee, issue to every qualified applicant a driver's
    11  license indicating the type or general class of vehicles the
    12  licensee is authorized to drive and any endorsements or
    13  restrictions, which license shall contain a distinguishing
    14  number assigned by the department to the licensee, the actual
    15  name, date of birth, residence address, county of residence
    16  address, a color photograph or photographic facsimile of the
    17  licensee, such other information as may be required by the
    18  department, and either a facsimile of the signature of the

     1  licensee or a space upon which the licensee shall write his
     2  usual signature with pen and ink. Personal medical data and
     3  other information for use in an emergency may be included as a
     4  part of the license. Information other than that required to
     5  identify the licensee, the distinguishing number and the class
     6  of license issued may be included in microdata form. Except as
     7  provided in subsection (f), an applicant shall include his
     8  Social Security number on his license application, but the
     9  Social Security number shall not be included on the license. No
    10  driver's license shall be valid until it has been signed by the
    11  licensee.
