        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           OCTOBER 25, 1999

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating the month of November 1999 as "Home Health Care
     2     Month" in Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, Home health care is a vital health care service
     4  available to citizens of this Commonwealth; and
     5     WHEREAS, Home health care services are given to patients
     6  regardless of their race, religion, nationality or ability to
     7  pay; and
     8     WHEREAS, Home health care services enable patients to be
     9  treated at home, thereby keeping family members together; and
    10     WHEREAS, Home health care fosters more rapid recovery,
    11  earlier hospital discharge and reduced admissions to
    12  institutions; and


     1     WHEREAS, Most persons prefer to remain with their families in
     2  the comfort and security of their homes; and
     3     WHEREAS, The number and variety of treatments and therapies
     4  available to patients in their homes is increasing; and
     5     WHEREAS, There is growing evidence that home health care is
     6  an economical means of treating patients; therefore be it
     7     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives proclaim November
     8  1999 as "Home Health Care Month" in Pennsylvania and urge the
     9  citizens of this Commonwealth to recognize and appreciate the
    10  valuable service provided by home health care agencies.
