AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation to the Department of Health for the
2 Women, Infant and Children Program; and for an outreach
3 program and enrollment activities.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Appropriation.
7 The sum of $3,500,000 is hereby appropriated to the
8 Department of Health for a State supplement to the Federal
9 Special Supplemental Food Service Program for Women, Infants and
10 Children for the fiscal year July 1, 2000, to June 30, 2001, to
11 supplement the appropriation under section 215 of the act of May
12 24, 2000 (P.L. , No.21A), known as the General Appropriation
13 Act of 2000. Of this amount, $500,000 shall be used for the
14 expansion or the initiating of mass media outreach to families
15 with children who may be eligible for the Federal Special
16 Supplemental Food Service Program for Women, Infants and
1 Children.
2 Section 2. Effective date.
3 This act shall take effect immediately.
