AN ACT 1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated 2 Statutes, providing for a Boy and Girl Scouts of America 3 plate; and establishing the Scouting Fund. 4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 5 hereby enacts as follows: 6 Section 1. Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated 7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read: 8 § 1361. Boy and Girl Scouts of America plate. 9 The department shall design a Boy and Girl Scouts of America 10 registration plate. Upon application of any person, accompanied 11 by a fee of $35 which shall be in addition to the annual 12 registration fee, the department shall issue the plate for a 13 passenger car or truck with a registered gross weight of not 14 more than 9,000 pounds. The Scouting Fund established in section 15 1905(d) (relating to payments to special funds) shall receive 16 $15 of the fee paid by the applicant for the plate.
1 Section 2. Section 1905 of Title 75 is amended by adding a 2 subsection to read: 3 § 1905. Payments to special funds. 4 * * * 5 (d) Scouting Fund.--Fifteen dollars of each fee received 6 under section 1361 (relating to Boy and Girl Scouts of America 7 plate) shall be credited to the Scouting Fund, as follows: 8 (1) There is hereby established a special account in the 9 Treasury Department which shall be known as the Scouting 10 Fund. The purpose of the Scouting Fund is to advance the 11 activities of the Boy and Girl Scouts of America by assisting 12 the councils of the Boy and Girl Scouts of America within 13 this Commonwealth. 14 (2) All moneys in the Scouting Fund are hereby annually 15 appropriated to the Department of Community and Economic 16 Development to be expended for the purposes of this 17 subsection. 18 (3) Estimates of amounts to be expended under this 19 subsection shall be submitted to the Governor by the 20 Department of Community and Economic Development for his 21 approval. 22 (4) The State Treasurer shall not honor any requisition 23 for expenditures by the Department of Community and Economic 24 Development in excess of estimates approved by the Governor 25 or in excess of the amount available for the purposes for 26 which the requisition was made, whichever is the lesser 27 amount. 28 Section 3.
