AN ACT
1 Providing for a nonbinding referendum in the city of the first
2 class on the matter of public funding for professional sports
3 stadiums.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Short title.
7 This act shall be known and may be cited as the Philadelphia
8 Stadium Site Referendum.
9 Section 2. Authorization.
10 The County Board of Election in the city of the first class
11 shall cause to be printed on the official ballot, at the primary
12 or general election occurring at 30 days next following the
13 effective date of this act, a nonbinding referendum to determine
14 the will of the electorate in the city of the first class with
15 respect to public funding of professional sports stadiums.
16 Section 3. Form of question.
17 The referendum question shall be in substantially the
18 following form:
1 Do you favor the location of a new baseball stadium in
2 the City of Philadelphia at:
3 (1) Broad and Spring Garden Streets;
4 (2) 30th Street;
5 (3) South Philadelphia Sports Complex; or
6 (4) Port Richmond?
7 Section 4. Conduct of election.
8 The referendum required under this act shall be advertised
9 and conducted in accordance with the provisions of the act of
10 June 3, 1937 (P.L.1333, No.320), known as the Pennsylvania
11 Election Code.
12 Section 5. Effective date.
13 This act shall take effect immediately.
