AN ACT 1 Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania 2 Consolidated Statutes, further providing for the duration and 3 amendment of protective orders and approved consent 4 agreements.; and further defining "applicant" for purposes of <-- 5 background checks for employment in schools. 6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 7 hereby enacts as follows: 8 Section 1. Section 6108(d) of Title 23 of the Pennsylvania 9 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read: 10 § 6108. Relief. 11 * * * 12 (d) Duration and amendment of order or agreement.--A 13 protection order or approved consent agreement shall be for a 14 fixed period of time not to exceed [one year] 18 36 months. 1 court may amend its order or agreement at any time upon 2 subsequent petition filed by either party. 3 * * * 4 Section 2. The definition of "applicant" in section 6354 of <-- 5 Title 23 is amended to read: 6 § 6354. Definitions. 7 The following words and phrases when used in this subchapter 8 shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the 9 context clearly indicates otherwise: 10 "Applicant." An individual who applies for a position as a 11 school employee. The term includes an individual who transfers 12 from one position as a school employee to another position as a 13 school employee and an individual who, while holding the same 14 position as a school employee, transfers from one school 15 facility to another school facility. 16 * * * 17 Section 3 2.
