                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of May 1, 1933 (P.L.103, No.69), entitled, as
     2     reenacted and amended, "An act concerning townships of the
     3     second class; and amending, revising, consolidating and
     4     changing the law relating thereto," increasing per diem
     5     allowance for township officials to $50.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  Section 1401(c) of the act of May 1, 1933
     9  (P.L.103, No.69), known as The Second Class Township Code,
    10  reenacted and amended November 9, 1995 (P.L.350, No.60), is
    11  amended to read:
    12     Section 1401.  County Associations.--* * *
    13     (c)  Each supervisor, auditor, assessor, tax collector,
    14  manager, solicitor, engineer, treasurer and secretary attending
    15  the convention shall receive a certificate, signed by the
    16  secretary of the county association, attesting their presence at
    17  the convention. The certificate entitles the official to collect
    18  from the township treasurer the sum of [thirty-five dollars
    19  ($35)] fifty dollars ($50) for each day's attendance, expenses

     1  which are limited to the registration fee, mileage for use of a
     2  personal vehicle or reimbursement of actual transportation
     3  expense going to and returning from the meeting plus all other
     4  actual expenses that the board of supervisors agrees to pay.
     5  Every delegate attending the meeting shall submit to the board
     6  of supervisors an itemized account of expenses incurred at the
     7  meeting. If the meeting is held during township employes' normal
     8  work schedule, the board of supervisors may authorize township
     9  employes to be compensated at their regular employe rate during
    10  their attendance at the meeting, in which case the employe is
    11  not entitled to the [thirty-five dollars ($35)] fifty dollars
    12  ($50) mentioned in this section. No supervisor, auditor,
    13  assessor, tax collector, manager, solicitor, engineer, treasurer
    14  or secretary shall be paid for more than two days' attendance in
    15  any one year.

    17     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1999.
