AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation from a restricted revenue account within
2 the General Fund and from Federal augmentation funds to the
3 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The following sums, or as much thereof as may be
7 necessary, are specifically appropriated from the restricted
8 revenue account within the General Fund and from Federal
9 augmentation funds to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission
10 to provide for the operation of the commission for the fiscal
11 year July 1, 1999, to June 30, 2000, for the purposes and in the
12 amounts shown:
13 Federal State
14 For the salaries, wages and all
15 necessary expenses for the proper
16 operation and administration of the
17 Pennsylvania Public Utility
1 Commission, including the chairman and
2 commissioners and the Bureau of Safety
3 and Enforcement.
4 State appropriation........ 40,611,000
5 FOR THE EXPENSES OF PROVIDING <--
6 QUARTERLY COMPLAINT INFORMATION
7 REPORTS TO THE CONSUMER PROTECTION AND
8 PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE COMMITTEE OF
9 THE SENATE AND THE CONSUMER AFFAIRS
10 COMMITTEE OF THE HOUSE OF
11 REPRESENTATIVES AND PUBLIC ACCESS TO
12 COMPLAINT INFORMATION FOR ALL PUBLIC
13 UTILITIES AND ELECTRIC GENERATION
14 SUPPLIERS LICENSED BY THE PENNSYLVANIA
15 PUBLIC UTILITY COMMISSION. QUARTERLY
16 REPORTS TO THESE COMMITTEES SHALL BE
17 PROVIDED NO LATER THAN 30 DAYS FROM
18 THE END OF EACH CALENDAR QUARTER.
19 STATE APPROPRIATION........ 100,000
20 The following Federal augmentation
21 amounts, or as much thereof as may be
22 necessary, are specifically
23 appropriated to supplement the sum
24 authorized to be billed to utilities
25 for the operation of the commission:
26 (1) "Natural Gas Pipeline
27 Safety" - To enforce the
28 regulations of the Natural Gas
29 Pipeline Safety Act.
30 Federal appropriation...... 250,000

1 Any Federal funds which the
2 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission
3 receives pursuant to these
4 appropriations shall not be reimbursed
5 to any utility.
6 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 1999, or
7 immediately, whichever is later.
