AN ACT
1 Making appropriations to the Wistar Institute-Research,
2 Philadelphia.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. (a) The sum of $237,000 is hereby appropriated
6 to the Wistar Institute-Research, Philadelphia, for the fiscal
7 year July 1, 1999, to June 30, 2000, for the operation and
8 maintenance of the institute.
9 (b) The sum of $102,000 is hereby appropriated to the Wistar
10 Institute-Research, Philadelphia, for the fiscal year July 1,
11 1999, to June 30, 2000, for research on acquired immune
12 deficiency syndrome.
13 (c) Payments on account of the appropriations in this
14 section shall be made by the Secretary of Health in equal
15 quarterly payments.
16 Section 2. The Wistar Institute-Research shall provide full,
17 complete and accurate information as may be required by the
1 Department of Health or the majority chairman or the minority
2 chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the Senate or the
3 majority chairman or the minority chairman of the Appropriations
4 Committee of the House of Representatives.
5 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 1999, or
6 immediately, whichever is later.
