AN ACT
1 Establishing a restricted receipts account within the General
2 Fund for the Commonwealth proceeds from the tobacco
3 settlement agreement.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Deposit of tobacco settlement proceeds.
7 (a) Establishment.--There is hereby established within the
8 General Fund a restricted receipts account to be known as the
9 Tobacco Settlement Account.
10 (b) Deposit of proceeds.--All payments received by the
11 Commonwealth under the Master Tobacco Settlement Agreement shall
12 be deposited into the Tobacco Settlement Account and shall
13 remain in that account subject to appropriation by the General
14 Assembly.
15 (c) Interest.--All interest earned on moneys deposited in
16 the Tobacco Settlement Account shall be credited to that
17 account.
1 Section 2. Effective date.
2 This act shall take effect immediately.
