                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
     2     Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for
     3     limitation of time in certain criminal proceedings.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 5552(c) of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read:
     8  § 5552.  Other offenses.

    10     (c)  Exceptions.--If the period prescribed in subsection (a)
    11  or subsection (b) has expired, a prosecution may nevertheless be
    12  commenced for:

    14         (4)  Any offense under 18 Pa.C.S. § 4117 (relating to
    15     insurance fraud) within three years after the discovery of
    16     the offense by an aggrieved party, by law enforcement or by a

     1     person who has a legal duty to represent an aggrieved party
     2     and who is himself not a party to the offense, but in no case
     3     shall this paragraph extend the period of limitation
     4     otherwise applicable by more than 20 years.
