                                     AN ACT

     1  Requiring certain boards, commissions and departments to have
     2     senior citizen representatives.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5  Section 1.  Short title.
     6     This act shall be known and may be cited as the Senior
     7  Citizen Representation Act.
     8  Section 2.  Senior citizen representatives.
     9     The following boards, commissions and departments shall have
    10  representation from at least one senior citizen, 60 years of age
    11  or older:
    12     The Department of Aging.
    13     The State Board of Dentistry.
    14     The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission.
    15     The State Board of Medicine.
    16     The State Board of Nursing.

     1     The State Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators.
     2     The State Board of Optometry.
     3     The State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
     4     The State Board of Pharmacy.
     5     The State Board of Physical Therapy.
     6     The State Board of Podiatry.
     7     The State Board of Psychology.
     8     The State Veterans' Commission.
     9  Section 3.  Appointments; vacancies.
    10     Each board, commission or department listed in this act shall
    11  act to fill a vacant seat with a senior citizen representative.
    12  Members serving on a board, commission or department shall
    13  continue to serve until the expiration of their terms. If there
    14  are no regular or public members who are 60 years of age or
    15  older on the effective date of this act, the next member
    16  appointed must be 60 years of age or older.
    17  Section 4.  Effective date.
    18     This act shall take effect immediately.
