                                     AN ACT

     1  Providing for a designated percentage of tobacco litigation
     2     master settlement agreement funds to be utilized for cancer
     3     research facilities.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6  Section 1.  Set aside for research facilities.
     7     (a)  General rule.--Annually, 25% of all moneys received by
     8  the Commonwealth under the tobacco litigation master settlement
     9  agreement shall be set aside for appropriation by the General
    10  Assembly to the following cancer research facilities:
    11         (1)  The Fox Chase Cancer Center.
    12         (2)  The Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson
    13     University.
    14         (3)  The Penn State Geisinger Cancer Center.
    15         (4)  The University of Pennsylvania Cancer Center.


     1         (5)  The University of Pittsburgh Cancer Center.
     2         (6)  Temple University Cancer Center.
     3         (7)  The Wistar Institute.
     4     (b)  Definition.--As used in this section, the term "tobacco
     5  litigation master settlement agreement" means the master
     6  settlement agreement relating to tobacco litigation entered into
     7  in 1998 by the Commonwealth and leading United States tobacco
     8  product manufacturers.
     9  Section 2.  Effective date.
    10     This act shall take effect immediately.
