SENATE BILL

        REFERRED TO APPROPRIATIONS, MARCH 6, 1998

                                     AN ACT

     1  Making an appropriation to the Mercer Museum in Doylestown,
     2     Pennsylvania.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5     Section 1.  The sum of $139,000 is hereby appropriated to the
     6  Mercer Museum in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, for the fiscal year
     7  July 1, 1998, to June 30, 1999, for operating expenses,
     8  including maintenance and the purchase of apparatus, supplies
     9  and equipment.
    10     Section 2.  Payments to the Mercer Museum on account of the
    11  appropriation provided in section 1 shall be made quarterly by
    12  the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum
    13  Commission.
    14     Section 3.  The Mercer Museum shall provide full, complete
    15  and accurate information as may be required by the Pennsylvania
    16  Historical and Museum Commission or the majority chairman or the
    17  minority chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the Senate


     1  or the majority chairman or the minority chairman of the
     2  Appropriations Committee of the House of Representatives.
     3     Section 4.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1998, or
     4  immediately, whichever is later.
