AN ACT
1 Amending Title 51 (Military Affairs) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, further providing for advisory
3 councils for veterans' homes.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 704(a) of Title 51 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 704. Advisory councils for veterans' homes.
9 (a) Establishment of advisory council.--There is hereby
10 established an advisory council for each veterans' home operated
11 by the Commonwealth. Each advisory council shall consist of [11]
12 16 15 members and the Adjutant General, who shall serve ex <--
13 officio. [Eight] Twelve of the members shall be appointed by the
14 Governor from a list of nominations submitted to the Adjutant
15 General by the Pennsylvania War Veterans' Council. One of the <--
16 members shall be appointed by the Governor as a member at large
17 and he or she shall be an honorably discharged veteran and a
1 resident of this Commonwealth. The Speaker of the House of
2 Representatives and the President pro tempore of the Senate
3 shall each appoint one member from their respective bodies to
4 serve on each council. The remaining member on the advisory
5 council shall be selected by the residents of the veterans'
6 homes.
