AN ACT
1 Amending Title 51 (Military Affairs) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, further providing for advisory
3 councils for veterans' homes.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 704(a) of Title 51 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 704. Advisory councils for veterans' homes.
9 (a) Establishment of advisory council.--There is hereby
10 established an advisory council for each veterans' home operated
11 by the Commonwealth. Each advisory council shall consist of [11]
12 16 members and the Adjutant General, who shall serve ex officio.
13 [Eight] Twelve of the members shall be appointed by the Governor
14 from a list of nominations submitted to the Adjutant General by
15 the Pennsylvania War Veterans' Council. One of the members shall
16 be appointed by the Governor as a member at large and he or she
17 shall be an honorably discharged veteran and a resident of this
18 Commonwealth. The Speaker of the House of Representatives and
1 the President pro tempore of the Senate shall each appoint one
2 member from their respective bodies to serve on each council.
3 The remaining member on the advisory council shall be selected
4 by the residents of the veterans' homes.
