SENATE BILL

        INTRODUCED BY PUNT, SLOCUM, WOZNIAK, RHOADES AND HUGHES,

        REFERRED TO COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, JUNE 11, 1997

                                     AN ACT

     1  Repealing the act of April 20, 1921 (P.L.193, No.108), entitled,
     2     as amended, "An act establishing a Bureau of Statistics and
     3     Information in the Department of Commerce; providing for the
     4     appointment of officers and employes, and providing for the
     5     fixing of their duties, powers, and compensation; making it
     6     the duty of the Secretary of Commerce to furnish statistical
     7     data provided for in this act to the heads of the State
     8     Government for the use of their departments, upon
     9     requisition; making it the duty of persons, associations,
    10     copartnerships, corporations, and municipal and other public
    11     officers to furnish information required; prescribing
    12     penalties for violation of such duty; and repealing certain
    13     acts."

    14     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    15  hereby enacts as follows:
    16     Section 1.  The act of April 20, 1921 (P.L.193, No.108),
    17  referred to as the Bureau of Statistics and Information Act, is
    18  repealed.
    19     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
