AN ACT
1 Amending the act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323, No.130), entitled
2 "An act relating to counties of the third, fourth, fifth,
3 sixth, seventh and eighth classes; amending, revising,
4 consolidating and changing the laws relating thereto,"
5 providing for the abolition of jury commissioners.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. Section 401 of the act of August 9, 1955
9 (P.L.323, No.130), known as The County Code, is amended by
10 adding a subsection to read:
11 Section 401. Enumeration of Elected Officers.--* * *
12 (d) The office of jury commissioner may be abolished at the
13 option of each county by a majority vote of the county
14 commissioners.
15 Section 2. If abolished by the county commissioners, the
16 office of jury commissioner shall expire at the completion of
17 the current jury commissioners' terms of office.
18 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
