SENATE BILL

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of June 23, 1931 (P.L.932, No.317), entitled
     2     "An act relating to cities of the third class; and amending,
     3     revising, and consolidating the law relating thereto,"
     4     defining delinquent local taxes as thirty days after the
     5     final deadline for paying the taxes.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  Section 2541 of the act of June 23, 1931
     9  (P.L.932, No.317), known as The Third Class City Code, reenacted
    10  and amended June 28, 1951 (P.L.662, No.164), is amended to read:
    11     Section 2541.  Public Sale of Property to Satisfy Tax
    12  Claims.--(a)  In addition to other remedies provided for the
    13  collection of delinquent city taxes, the city treasurer may sell
    14  at public sale, in the manner hereinafter provided, any property
    15  upon which the taxes, assessed and levied, have not been paid
    16  and have become delinquent, unless such property has already
    17  been purchased and is held for the benefit of all the tax
    18  levying authorities concerned.
    19     (b)  For purposes of this section, taxes shall be considered

     1  delinquent thirty days after the final deadline for payment of
     2  such taxes for the current tax year.
     3     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
