A RESOLUTION
1 Congratulating the Artisans Order of Mutual Protection on the
2 celebration of its 125th anniversary on May 1, 1998.
3 WHEREAS, In 1873 the Artisans Order of Mutual Protection was
4 founded as a fraternal benefit society; and
5 WHEREAS, The Artisans Order of Mutual Protection is dedicated
6 to fulfilling the need for low-cost protection for the average
7 person and provides such benefits as family outings, preferred
8 interest mortgages, sick benefits for adult benefit members, a
9 great meeting and social facility, college scholarship
10 assistance programs, a college book reimbursement program and
11 nursing scholarship assistance programs; and
12 WHEREAS, Of the more than 100 fraternal benefit societies
13 nationwide, the Artisans Order of Mutual Protection is the
14 oldest active organization with a legacy of notable members who
15 have provided a solid foundation for its longevity; and
16 WHEREAS, The Artisans Order of Mutual Protection has over
17 10,000 members and has paid out over $35 million in benefits;
1 therefore be it
2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives congratulate the
3 Artisans Order of Mutual Protection on the celebration of its
4 125th anniversary on May 1, 1998.
