        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           MARCH 31, 1997

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating the month of April 1997 as "Fair Housing Month" in
     2     Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Human Relations Act prohibits
     4  discrimination in housing practices in this Commonwealth; and
     5     WHEREAS, All the residents of this Commonwealth will benefit
     6  from fair housing practices; and
     7     WHEREAS, It is essential that all Pennsylvanians be aware of
     8  the need for and benefits of fair housing practices; therefore
     9  be it
    10     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
    11  month of April 1997 as "Fair Housing Month" in Pennsylvania and
    12  encourage all residents of Pennsylvania to support and assist in
    13  maintaining fair housing practices throughout this Commonwealth.
