AN ACT
1 Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, further regulating confidentiality of
3 Social Security information; and making a repeal.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 4304.1(a)(2) of Title 23 of the
7 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, amended December 16, 1997
8 (P.L.549, No.58), is amended to read:
9 § 4304.1. Cooperation of government and nongovernment agencies.
10 (a) Cooperation of government agencies.--Notwithstanding any
11 other provision of law, including the provisions of section 731
12 of the act of April 9, 1929 (P.L.343, No.176), known as The
13 Fiscal Code, all government agencies shall:

15 (2) Require the Social Security number of an individual
16 who has one on any application for a professional or
17 occupational license or certification; a permit; a driver's
18 license, including a commercial driver's license; a
1 recreational license; or a marriage license. Collection of
2 the Social Security information shall be performed in such
3 manner as to protect its confidentiality.

5 Section 2. The provisions of 23 Pa.C.S. Pt. II are repealed
6 insofar as they are inconsistent with this act.
7 Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
