AN ACT 1 Amending the act of October 4, 1978 (P.L.883, No.170), entitled, 2 as reenacted, "An act relating to conflicts of interest 3 involving certain public officials serving in State or State 4 agencies and local political subdivision positions and 5 prohibiting certain public employees from engaging in certain 6 conflict of interest activities requiring certain disclosures 7 and providing penalties," further providing for financial 8 statements. 9 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 10 hereby enacts as follows: 11 Section 1. Section 4 of the act of October 4, 1978 (P.L.883, 12 No.170), referred to as the Public Official and Employee Ethics 13 Law, reenacted and amended June 26, 1989 (P.L.26, No.9), is 14 amended by adding a subsection to read: 15 Section 4. Statement of financial interests required to be 16 filed. 17 * * * 18 (c.1) In the event that any State level nominee or any 19 nominee for county level or local office fails to file the 20 statement of financial interests on or before the last day for
1 filing nomination petitions, the nominee's name may not be 2 placed on the ballot or, if the nominee's name has been placed 3 on the ballot, it shall be stricken. 4 * * * 5 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days. B5L65JRW/19970H1425B1683 - 2 -
