AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation APPROPRIATIONS to The Carnegie for the <--
2 Carnegie Museum of Natural History and the Carnegie Science
3 Center.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The sum of $181,000 is hereby appropriated to The
7 Carnegie for the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Pittsburgh,
8 for the fiscal year July 1, 1997, to June 30, 1998, for
9 maintenance and the purchase of apparatus, supplies and
10 equipment.
11 Section 2. The sum of $181,000 is hereby appropriated to The
12 Carnegie for the Carnegie Science Center, Pittsburgh, for the
13 fiscal year July 1, 1997, to June 30, 1998, for the general
14 operation of the planetarium and institute.
15 Section 3. Payments to The Carnegie on account of the
16 appropriations provided in sections 1 and 2 shall be made
17 quarterly by the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania
1 Historical and Museum Commission.
2 Section 4. The Carnegie shall provide full, complete and
3 accurate information as may be required by the Pennsylvania
4 Historical and Museum Commission or the majority chairman or the
5 minority chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the Senate
6 or the majority chairman or the minority chairman of the
7 Appropriations Committee of the House of Representatives.
8 Section 5. This act shall take effect July 1, 1997, or
9 immediately, whichever is later.
