                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, providing for an additional fine for
     3     crimes committed with firearms.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Sections 6103 and 6111.3(b) of Title 18 of the
     7  Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to read:
     8  § 6103.  Crimes committed with firearms.
     9     (a)  General rule.--If any person commits or attempts to
    10  commit a crime enumerated in section 6105 (relating to persons
    11  not to possess, use, manufacture, control, sell or transfer
    12  firearms) when armed with a firearm contrary to the provisions
    13  of this subchapter, that person may, in addition to the
    14  punishment provided for the crime, also be punished as provided
    15  by this subchapter.
    16     (b)  Additional fine.--
    17         (1)  Persons convicted for a crime or an attempt to

     1     commit a crime enumerated in section 6105 when armed with a
     2     firearm contrary to the provisions of this subchapter, shall,
     3     in addition to any fine, cost or penalty as provided for by
     4     law, be sentenced to pay a fine of $25.
     5         (2)  The additional fine assessed under paragraph (1)
     6     shall be transferred by the court to the Pennsylvania State
     7     Police within 14 days of receipt of such fine to be deposited
     8     into the Firearm Ownership Fund under section 6111.3
     9     (relating to Firearm Ownership Fund).
    10  § 6111.3.  Firearm Ownership Fund.

    12     (b)  Source.--The source of the fund shall be moneys
    13  collected and transferred under section 6103(b) (relating to
    14  crimes committed with firearms), moneys collected and
    15  transferred under section 6111.2 (relating to firearm sales
    16  surcharge) and moneys collected and transferred under section
    17  6111(b)(3).
    18     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
